RE: Help with P0442; P0455; P0456...

Remove the air cleaner box under the hood (big black box on the passender side under the hood). look for two plastic tubes runningunder it from front to back. one of them makes a 90 degree transistion to a tube coming up from below back by the firewall. Check the piece of rubber hose that connects these two tubes. mine was dryrotted and cracked so I replaced it and all was well (5/16" vacuum hose available at an auto parts store. Get enough to make a loop when you replace it instead of just a 90 degree bend. This will keep it from cracking in the future). The other places to check would be the gasket on the gas cap and the filler neck assembly as it can rust out and set these codes. you may have to trace and check all the vaccum lines that are a part of the fuel evaporative system...

I'll check with hose!!
well the cap I did change for new one, no original but a cap for T&C, do you think no original cap will reflect on it?
thanks a lot for now!!

An aftermarket cap should not be an issue but then again, mine is still the original so I have not looked at a replacement. As a part of our emissions inspection, they check the seal of the cap and it has always passed. good luck!

I did change the rubber, but the 5/16" was fine when connect to plastic tube but was small to connect to thealuminum line, so I put 3/8", not very tied to the plastic but was fine.
I look the tank neck, It looks good there.
Now we wait and see if the codes come back, I rest with Actron Pocket Scan.
After I change the tubes and start the car the code P0456 did not came back only ..42 and ..55.
Now we wait and see if the codes come back, I rest with Actron Pocket Scan.
I'll let you know.
thanks guys

If you replaced all the rubber, replaced the cap and have no corosion at the filler neckthen you are getting to the point where you will likely need to take it into a shop for diagnosis. The stealership as well as larger reputable shops will have a smoke machine which they hook up to the evep system and pump a thick smoke through all the lines to identify the leak. I thought about buying one when I originally could not find the leak in my T & C but they arepretty expensive for the shade-tree mechanic! I think your best bet would be to find a reputable shop, make sure they have a smoke machine (go read up on them so you can call bull$hit if they try to lie to ya) and let them identify the leak.

Sorry but I am out of cheap and easy answers :-(

What kind of vehicle is this?

if its a tc you might wanna check the vent valve and make sure it can hold vaccuum if it can't that would cause a large leak.
