Help with Voyager noise
Hi All,
I'm Kole from Berkshire, England UK. I have just purchased a used Grand Voyager CRD 2.5 - 2004 as the family hack. I have a strange noise when I switch the engine off which is a whirring sound which sounds like a jet engine coming to rest. It continues long after I have locked the doors....probably lasts about 4 mins or so? Could someone tell me if this is normal? What is it? Any great family car !! |
RE: Help with Voyager noise
Most likely the electric radiator cooling fans.

RE: Help with Voyager noise
It happens even if you switch the engine on for a few seconds and then off. ??

RE: Help with Voyager noise
Does this happen every time you turn the key on or just after the car has been driven?

RE: Help with Voyager noise
It happen when the car is started and then switched off. I have not tried just the ignition and then off....I will try that later.
The sound seems to come from the engine compartment as welll as under the van? I also noticed smoke/steam coming from under the van when I came to a stop. It was a very cold and wet night so could have been water evapourating from the exhust ?? |
RE: Help with Voyager noise
the noise you can hear is the aux heater underneath on the left hand side powering down and is normal try sliding both heater slides back at least 5 clicks and then you will not turn it on it is there because diesels run cold and your heater will not work as well
