High pressure fuel pump for 2003 2.5 CRD Grand voyager

I have a 2003 Grand Voyager 2.5 CRD.

Last week it began to cut out under moderate acceleration. there was was no engine management light showing.

I put it into my Chrysler dealer who ran diagnostics on it. They say that there is a leak in the high pressure diesel fuel pump and that it would need replaced.

They quoted my £1200 including changing the timing belt. Not the type of spare change I have at this time of year.

I dove my car away from the dealer and put a full tank of diesel into it. I have drove 70 miles in it since without it cutting out, however due to the recent cold snap, when it was below -5 the car would not start, the engine was cranking but wouldn't start.

does anybody have any advice about where to source a new/refurbished/used high pressure diesel pump.

I have spoke to a shop in Manchester who will supply me a reconditioned bosch diesel pump but I need to find the part number, which I can not find.

Can anybody advise what the part number is?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

the best place i found for parts for my g/v is ebay actually bought a high pressure pump about 6 months ago won it for £8.90 delivered and also i never trust main dealers heard a lot of stories about them saying its 1 thing and turning out to be something else wouldnt like you to spend alot of money just to have the same problem, if i was in your situation i would get a second opinion from somewhere else to be double sure .

Thanks for your reply Crow. I have been looking on Ebay but the high pressure diesel pumps are around £200. £8.90 Is a good price for the pump, guess i'll need to keep looking thanks.

Hi
So unlikely to be the high pressure pump 6 years in a dealer I have never fitted one. More likely injector or fuel rail or the control valve on the pump.
