It will impossible to change the brushes without removing the alternator - and finding replacement brushes is difficult - though model shops have proved useful in the past.

In my experience it is easier just to change the alternator.

Try Ebay for a new or second hand one with a guarantee.

I have a wiring diagram but am unable to attach it to this reply.

You need to disconnect the battery then disconnect the push in field wire and remove nut holding other wire (both on back of alternator).

You then need to remove the serpentine belt which has an automastic tensioner pulley just below the alternator (use a long spanner and turn the tensioner clockwise and remove belt - two people are better than one).

Then remove the nut holding top of alternator, then remove bolt from bottom.

Replace and then all in reverse.

Oh you mau have to remove the windshield wipers, arms and shield as well.

Hope this helps
