Instruments acting strange?
A couple of times just recently when I've turned on the ignition but before starting the engine in my 2006 Grand Voyager CRD the instruments have remained dark and the speedometer and rev counter have both moved quickly clockwise to their maximums. If I turn back the ignition to the start position and try again everything behaves normally. Car is otherwise working normally. Any ideas what is going on?
Thanks in anticipation. |
Pls search the forums, this has been answered many times before and is a very common occurance.

Thanks andyb2000. I'm new to this forum (and relatively new to the grand voyager). I did try several searches before I posted my message but couldn't find anything specific. If you could point me towards a relevant thread I would be very grateful....cheers.

This is a very common problem and has been covered many times. In a nutshell, sweeping dials means low battery voltage. Your battery probably needs replaced.

Start with the battery.
Hey folks. Lighten up some. Reality is people first coming to a forum don't have any idea how it works. Second, the powers that be live on traffic on their forums. No visitors - no forum. If you tell them they screwed up right off the bat chances are we lost a customer. If you're tired of typing repeats; cut and paste, save recurring explanations on a file, or as booke23 did (at least), post a link. It's not hard. |
Actually I have some sympathy for the O/P as it is not actually that easy to find the information on the sweeping dials issue on the forum. (what keyword do you search for?)
