Interior lights won't come on when drivers door opened

New member here, have been lurking about for a while and found some great info. I have a '99 Ply. Grand Vovager and the interior lights won't come on when I open the drivers door. Does the door ajar switch control that function through the bcm? The switch appears to be good as the 'door ajar' light will come on when the door is opened and also the alarm/chime will sound if I open the door with the keys still in the ignition. The lights will come on when any other door is opened. Is this something that can be rectified without replacing the bcm or is there something else in the system that I'm missing. I've had no luck using the search feature, the only results I came up with had gone unanswered. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.-Jim.

Try to toggle the interior light switch left of the steering wheel. If in top position lights will be off.

Thanks for the wake-up, Robertehv, I must've had a brain freeze. Didn't think to check that. It solved my problem.
