key fob not working

my Chrysler Town and Country key fob would not open the doors, I bought this van used three weeks ago and the dealer replaced the battery but it still will not open the door most of the time. Is it possible it is just dirty and needs cleaning, if so how do i open it up, I can get the battery cover off but can not open the unit. I only have this one key fob.

HiYa darkwing, welcome to the forum - it might be nothing to do with the FOB as such, see here the post I referred you to is about the alarm, but it applies equally to the 'doorlock'

Best of luck !

Thank you, the key fob seems to be working now, I can stop pulling my hair out now, I still like a real key lol.

My key FOB seemed to get ‘weaker’ over time eventually stopping working altogether. The spare also didn’t work so I assumed a problem with the van and not the fob. It’s almost as if the receiver in the van has a battery which was dying and then died.

I’ve tried all the suggestions on the forum like the IOD fuse and disconnecting the battery all to no avail .... very frustrating
