Leak around Injector on 2003 Voyager 2.5 CRD

Guys,

I took the cover off my wifes 2.5 CRD Voygers engine to be greated by the sight below around the injector nearest the drivers side (RHD Car). Im guessing this is a combination of a leaking injector dripping into the cylinder , pooling onto pof the piston crown and then upon startup blowing past the injector seal causing this mess. has anyone else had this happen? Whats the fix and if its a new injector can anyone in or near Manchester hook me up with the special injector removal tool? Heres the Pics:-

The cure is quite simple in theory - remove the injector, clean the seat, replace the seating washer, apply the anti-sieze compound and refit the injector with a new injector pipe.

The difficult part can be getting the injector out, some will come out easily and some will need hydraulic ram to pull them. Try with a slide hammer but if it doesn't budge then dont force it, get someone with the proper kit to remove it for you.

Richard

Thanks Richard. Do you think the leak is purely due to a leaking seal then and not a combination of the injector dripping and a leaking seal? Can anyone lend me the correct VM tool to extract the injector as I'm nit going to start the job without it as it will no doubt be stuck solid! ! Cheers Andy

Guys,

I have to say this is the least responsive forum in the world. Through my interest in other performance car forums im used to loads of positive help regardless as to what the question asked is....on here it takes days to get a single answer.......soo blinking frustrating.

unfortunately for you some people do have a life outside of sitting on the PC 24/7 and answering questions.

Given that the majority of the user base on here is based in America, where they don't have diesel Voyagers and that there are not that many of them in the UK it's no surprise you don't get an instant answer

Regards
Richard

Your problem is a bad injector seal and no more, common issue.

Thanks Guys. Im booking her into the VM Specialist in Chesterfield for a recon injector, recut seat and new seals.

Off topic, but I passed 3 cars on trailers on the A706 yesterday morning, (would be quickest way from the M74 to the Forth Road Bridge and onto Fife), probably heading for Knockhill.
Sure at least one of them was a skyline, for some reason I thought they were drift cars. The big Voyager went past them like they were, well, sitting on a trailer lol.
