Mirrors retracting when starting the engine

My Voyager 2.4 SE 1999 built has got this nifty feature that it retracts the side mirrors once the engine stops running and after having locked the doors. This works fine, however, upon unlocking the doors the mirrors move outwards (so far so good) but when starting the engine they retract again with the result you don't see a thing [&:]
Does anybody had a similar experience ? If so, what was the solution to this problem ?

Are you sure the switch on the steering column is set to mirrors out.

RE: Mirrors retracting when starting the engine

Actually I was kinda expecting that this switch would have two options, either mirrors in-out automatically or fixed position after turning off the engine. I wasn't expecting to set the switch to automatic when leaving the car and than to set the switch back again before starting the engine, unless there's something wrong with the switch.
How does it work in your car ?

Hope somebody will have an answer to your airco problem.

RE: Mirrors retracting when starting the engine

On my car it works the way your appears to work. if I select mirrors in and close the front doors they motor in. They automatically motor out when I unlock the doors but unless I set the switch to mirrors out before starting the engine they retract again after the motor is started. Not sure if that is how they should work or we both have the same problem.

Cheers
