My turn to return to the community - dog smell in car

I have had a very bad dog smell in the car that I have only recently been able to get rid off (only to get the car flooded - must be a jinx).

Seeing as I have so many questions lately, I thought I will report what I did so as to return to the community.

Apparently the previous owner let the dog sit on one of the chairs.
I only noticed the smell after returning from the dealership.

The first and most important part was to smell the car thoroughly and find out the smell was not all over but only in the back seat.

Fabrize did not work. Air fresheners did not work. Those bags that emit good smell did not work. The upholstery cleaner with the enzymes against dog smell worked but not perfect. Be advised that while treating the upholstery anything that comes in direct contact with the fluid might get the smell of the dogs.

Eventually I used Nature Miracle - the problem is you have to let the car sit with the material in the shade for 10-14 days. The smell gets really bad at first but then it disappears.

I must admit that I am not sure it wouldn't have been easier just to replace the smelly seat.
