New guy with a question

Hello all! New here but not new to cars. I have had more cars than I can remember but this is my first Chrysler.

I have a 48 year old Ford that I do my own work on and I have tinkered with all of my cars to some degree so I know enough to get myself into and out of trouble.

My question is in regard to my wife's 2005 T&C. It has 200,000 on the clock and I'm trying to squeeze all the life I can out of it. It's been a very good car for us but it has had a few minor issues over the years.

The problem now is the AC fan resistor: fan blows full blast all the time. Our van has the dual zone AC with the little sensor at the center of the dash. Do I need the more expensive automatic temp control resistor? If I try to pinch pennies and buy the manual control resistor will the rear ac still work?

I know, I'm cheap. :o Thanks in advance!

If your AC Fan only runs on high its the resistor module thats at fault. Get numbers off the old unit to confer.

Hi, although mine is an older van, it has the dual AC and the previous owner did something similar. The front blower and AC work fine but although the rear AC works its either on full or off. There's no control over it!

Thanks! I ponied up the cash for the expensive resistor and everything works like new.

Kind of a stupid question, I know, but the cheapskate in me had to ask.

haha, its the cheapskate in me that prevented me from repairing mine. LOL! Plus I never ride in the back and my dogs always liked it on high anyway. hahaha
