Hi!
Our 1998 s reg 2.5 voyager needed a new ignition barrel, which we managed to get from a salvage place, fitted ok, but now we can't get it to start, probably because of the immobiliser code doesn't match the new keys. Is there any way we can do this ourselves?
We had to replace the barrel as it kept jamming, and the AA said it was on it's way out (the release button at the side kept getting stuck) seems ok now except for the codes.
Any information would be gratefully received!

Hi,
Its a pretty quick job at the main dealer. When i got some new keys they programmed the key in about 10mins. I guess it will be much the same for the barrel. (PS the dealer didnt even charge for the service of programming, it must have been my lucky day!)

I've just ordered 2 blank keys - I get the impression that if you have both original keys, then it's possible to program the new keys yourself. Anyone able to confirm this, and if so, any instructions?

 

If you have two original keys, you can program a new key yourself. Complete instuctions are inyour owners manual. The source you bought the new keys from should also be able to provide instructions.

 

Thanks. Keys have turned up today and they have, as you said, provided instructions. Never occurred to me that this would be in the owners manual - I thought it would normally be a dealer only job.
