Default Oil Consumption and PCV Valve

Hello,

My 05 T&C with the 3.8 L engine appears to be burning/consuming oil. Between the last change and now (4500 miles), I had to add 1.5 qts. I thought that the PCV valve could be bad (only 48k miles on the van), so I tried to pull it out but couldn't get it to come out. So two questions:

Is this oil consumption normal? About 1 quart every 3000 miles. (My 01 Concorde with 68K miles leaks a little oil but doesn't consume it at all)

How do you get the PCV valve out? Is it a screw in or just a grommet fit?

Thanks,
Bill
