Power Steering Pump installation
Hello,
I have a 2007 town and country v6 3.3 and have 87k miles on it. I want to replace the power steering pump but wasn't sure about a couple of things. I recently replaced the power steering fluid and wasn't sure on how to bleed out the system so that i don't make a mess with the fluid. How would i bleed out the power steering system?? Do i need to use some type of sealant on the hoses that connect to the power steering pump? I have to remove the air intake unit to get to the pump but thats not a problem. |
so i bought a new power steering pump and pulley. I pressed the pulley on to the power steering pump and its ready to go. do i also have to replace the hoses to the pum or can i use the hoses already there? where is the best place to bleed the system of power steering fluid?
Thanks for the help. |
there wont be much of a mess when u take off the lines up top

Can i take off the return hose from the power steering reservoir, turn on the car and drain the system from there?? I haven't looked under car to see where the high pressure line goes from the power steering pump to the rack and pinion. |
take off what ever u want but dont turn on the car
