Power Steering Whine Repair Tip

There are two lines that go to the power steering cooler, the factory clamps get weak and allows some air to enter, it may not leak fluid, but it will suck some air in causing intermitting whines, usually worse when the it is cold and dry out.

The hoses you may also find real thin and spongy, replace them, use good clamps.

Thank you for this handy tip, Silentdub. This could save someone somewhere a lot of money and frustration locating this problem. I had recently an odd autobox fault which turned out to be an unusually sensitive micro. taking the signal from the brake pedal's stop light switch. If I only JUST rested my foot at all on the pedal, it fouled up the shift.
Of course this could be deliberate design on the part of the original programmer who felt strongly about drivers leaving their foot on the brake pedal!

Well people ride the brake, they either need to be on the gas or brake, no coasting is allowed.
