Powertrain control modual - plug & play?

I'm rebuilding a 2011 T&C, does anyone know if the dealer needs to input the VIN # for vehicle to operate?

if you get a dealer PCM they are blank would need to install software vin and skim code.
Used pcm can not be reprogrammed to a different car.

Thanks for the reply. Understand programming another car's module not possible for installation into mine. Is this because I have 2011? I have observed companies on web who seem to stop at MY 2009.

The Sentry Key Theft Deterrent System [SKIM] is built in it must be initialized to properly function with the anti-theft module. You need at least an old school DRBIII or on your year a StarSCAN Scan Tool to enter your PIN number which I assume you don't have. Best of luck.

The companies you speak of have the software already bought from Chrysler and have the ability to program them on side with out being installed to the car. If they dont offer any for the 11 yet then will need to tow it to a dealer and let them install and program a new one.
