Probs Installing dvd radio system

I have a 2002 Chrysler Voyager and I want to install a DVD radio/monitor but the speakers had no sound after installation. The technician thinks its the amplifier but he took the car apart and couldnt find the amp. Can you please tell me where the amp is and how or why to fix the sound? Thank you!!

Yes, the original stereo worked great. All the speakers were working beforehand. We just wanted to put in a dvd system for the kids, but when the tech hooked everything up there was no sound. He said that he needed to wire the new stereo to the existing amp and that if he couldnt find it he would have to take the whole car apart and find all the speakers and rewire them into a new amp, which would take forever and probobly cost an arm and a leg to boot. Obviously there IS an existing amp somewhere, we just need to find it. Can you help? Thank you!!

RE: Probs Installing dvd radio system

The rear speakers have a built in amp and it sounds as though you/they have not reconnected the power lead, if they worked ok before then this is the problem. They do not need rewiring as the amp supply should be there already it should be a case of connecting the orange elec aerialor blue/white remote of the radio to the amp supply. The trouble with after market dvd/tv players it that (especially jap imports) they do not have the standard iso wiring plugs and need to be wired in old school way by cutting and connecting via screw in connector blocks and this is when the amp power is missed out.
