Default rear park assist disengaged???

Hi I have a 2005 grand voyager "limited" which has park assist fitted
The problem is it shows as "rear park assist disengaged" on the overhead console and chimes when reverse is selected. I was wondering if anyone knew how to engage this as the owners manual doesnt say anything??
It is a factory fitted unit
would appreciate your help!
cheers Andrew

The system can be turned ON or OFF through the
Electronic Vehicle Information Center (EVIC) when
the vehicle is in PARK. If the park assist system is
turned OFF, a single chime will sound and the EVIC
will display the following message “REAR PARK
ASSIST OFF”, when the vehicle is in reverse.
.
hope this helps...its from a cd I purchased on ebay

I believe that when on your display you are viewing the park assist, if you then press the STEP button, the system will cycle between disable/enable.
try this, all the best..Dave
