Chrysler has said it is not a defect and that the cold weather is the problem.

It happened to mine a few years ago. The car had been parked up for a few hours when the rear window just shattered for no reason. I can't remember for sure but I think it was quite cold but above freezing.

ours is a 2014 T & C and it was single digits this AM. Chrysler said no go.....they are not responsible for an outside force

If it is known for a car to shatter its back window while just standing and not on closing door or bumping it. I would put it down to the fitting process or an inferior glass. So is it a common occurrence with these cars.
Wglaw has had it replaced before and its went again. If it was done by Chrysler they would use the new manufacturing fitting process and same glass. If its common this is the answer.

This is the second time. Both times with cold weather and no one touched the first time and this time my sone was cleaning the snow with the snow brush and it pretty much exploded on him.

Just had this happen on our grand voyager (we are in uk) originally we thought the window had been smashed deliberately, but after viewing our cctv, car was parked on drive, it shows the window explode outwards, temperature today is around 20°c, car had been parked for couple hours. Very strange.
