removing turbocharger

Has anyone every removed the turbocharger from the CRD 2.5 Voyager? Can it be done without having to remove the engine? Any tips?

Also the pipe from the turbo to the cooler radiator has always been a bit oily on the outside for the last 10 years. Whilst I was looking for an oil leak source, I disconnected this pipe and drained 1/2 tbsp of engine oil. Do you guys also have an oily cloth pipe going from the turbo to the bottom of the radiator? Or is it completely dry and oil free? I am wondering if my turbo oil seals are gone. Could also explain some of the black exhaust smoke too!!

Black oil smoke could be fuelling related or crankcase fumes burning.
Haven't read anything on this engine relating to engine runaways where turbo seals have went and engine destructs while running on the oil.
But you have two relations here, oil in pipework and black smoke which might relate to piston blow-by and require a compression test.
