repair/service manual
 

Hi,

I want to buy a service manual for my 2001 Town & Country. Should I buy a Chiltons, Haynes, or factory service manual?
I noticed the factory manuals are purchased as year specific and cost ~$90. Would a factory manual of a different year (2000/2002) work? The Chilton/Haynes manual covers 1996-2002.
Also, are the cd-rom versions high quality for detailed printouts?

I would say it depends on what you expect to repair yourself. Chiltons and Haynes are OK for general repairs. They lack the detail and illustrations for more in depth repairs (i.e. heater core, rebuilds, etc). Myself, I always order the FSM, but I do all my own repairs. If you are just looking to do basic component repairs, tune ups, etc., then the others are probably OK, and a little cheaper in price. If the price is not a concern, they I would say an FSM.

Im looking for a more indepth manual for wiring, computer functions, etc. Looks like the FSM is a better option for me. But how about the different manual years? I found a few used ones for sale but for slightly different years (99-02, etc). Would they show the same information as the 2001? Also, any thoughts on the CD?
