Replacing TCM on 2001 Voyager
 

My can went into limp mode a week ago Friday. Engine light and battery lght were on.
Things we have done so far:
First we tried the old, "disconnecth the battery terminal". Took it for a short ride, and did not shift past second. Back into limp mode.

Codes came up as P1487, and P0700.

My son said to check the fusible links, which we did. Husand used his tester and found juice at all three.

Borrowed brother-in-law's code scanner. Code P0765, Shift solenoid.

Next, put in new input and output sensors. Still comes up with code P0765.

Replace the solenoid, replace tranny fluid (ATF+4) and filter.

Use the scanner and clear the codes. No good, still come up with P0765.

Husband pulls the TCM off and tests with his Ohm's meter. No juice.

He thinks we should order a new TCM.

My son found us a used one, same exact PN. He pulled it off a 2001 voyager in the junkyard (sticker said it was replaced in 2006). Supposedly 100K miles on it.

If we install the used one, will it mess up the odometer reading that is currently on my van?

the BCM hold the mileage for the whole car so no it wont do anything

Well, we installed the TCM today. No luck. Won't go out of limp mode. Still getting the P0765 Shift Solenoid D code.
Next try was the alternator, as the van immediately dies when the battery cable is disconnected.
Nope, that didn't work either.
My son tried every trick in the book regarding electrical, such as ground wires and what not. Sorry, I don't have all the details. I was the tool finder, turn the key on, clear the codes gal.

My son even tried to by pass some things to trick the darn computer.

Any suggestions! I really need this vehicle to run. It is in great shape otherwise, with ony 86,000 miles.

That's supposed to happen. Also there is only ONE fusible link on your van and it has nothing to do with your transmission. How much $$ have you spent so far?

Have any of you checked wire continuity from the solenoid pack to the TCM?
