replacing tranny

I hear that you have to reprogram the trans when installing a rebuilt one. is that necessary? having tires up and let it shift to 35mph 75 time. then road test and 45mph for 75 times. is it really needed?

that's a bunch of crap. even in chryslers recommendations, there's a cycling to relearn the trans. but with a scanner, you can do a quick learn. but in all honesty, just drive it normal an in no time, it will relearn. just to give you an idea how stupid that 75x BS is, when ever you disconnect the battery, the TCM defaults to base perameters... so whats the difference?

ya on my scanner I have that quick learn... I should have the tranny back next week... cant wait to get it out of the garage! ya it also said to do it again if you dis. the battery!!!!!!!!! sounded like a waste of time

I've done so many of these transmissions, I can R&R them in under 2 hrs. I had a customer buy a reman trans off the internet and installed it themselves, well after they got it together it had no reverse. I pulled the trans, fixed it and put it back in 2hrs flat. (reverse input snap ring wasn't seated). I charged them $350.
