Side door activation buttons.
The sliding side doors on my 2008 T & C open and close appropriately using the remote buttons on the master key and they open and close smoothly when operated manually.
Recently, however, the activation buttons on the inside door jams (left and right) have failed to open or close the doors. I assume a fuse must be blown (??) but I haven't been able to identify which one. Any help with this problem would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Rob |
Check the "Power Sliding Door Master Switch" on the overhead console.
From the 2008 manual: To provide a safer environment for small children riding in the rear seats, the second row power sliding door switches may be overridden by pressing the Master Lock Out Switch located in the front overhead console to the ON position. When the power sliding door master lock switch is in the OFF position, the power sliding side door may not be opened or closed by pressing the switch located on the b-pillar trim panel, just in front of the sliding door... |

Thanks! That was it. There are lots of threads, here and other forums where people have thought the interior buttons failed. Glad the vehicle is back to operational! |

How easy would it be to add a button for the rear tailgate? Seems strange it doesn't have one and I have to get the keys back out my pockets when my hands are full of shopping!

Open/Close Power Liftgate — Press the LIFTGATE button twice on the RKE transmitter within five seconds to Open/Close Power Liftgate. The liftgate will beep for three seconds and then open/close. If the button is pushed while the liftgate is being power closed, the liftgate will reverse to the full open position. If the liftgate is locked and is not equipped with a powered liftgate, pressing the button twice will result in the liftgate becoming unlocked for 30 seconds allowing you to manually access the liftgate area. The power liftgate may also be opened and closed by pressing the button located on the overhead console. If equipped with a rear interior switch on the left rear pillar, pushing once will close the liftgate only. The liftgate cannot be opened from this switch. |
Thanks but I wanted to know if its possible to add the rear interior switch onto the left rear pillar. At the moment I can only close it using the key or overhead console.

From the 2008 manual: The newer model manuals state it more clearly: George |
