sound but no picture on dvd screen
 

i hav a 53 voyager the dvd used to work fine but then i didnt use it for a while and i had the battery disconnected and now it plays the dvd and i get sound but the screen just lights up white but no picture can anyone help please

About 6 months ago I had a similar problem, except the screen did not light up white...it was completely dead. But like you I did have sound.

On looking into it, I found my necvox screen had an adapter module (behind the glovebox in my car, but it could be put anywhere) which took the audio and video feed from the 10 disc changer and converted it to be sent down a single cable to the screen. This single cable also powers the screen. I suspected this module to be suspect so I found a replacement from the USA and changed it......my screen still didn't work.

So I took the screen apart to check the internal fuse (it was ok) and concluded that the screen was at fault.

For simplicity, I decided to replace the screen with an identical second hand model. I did manage to find a second hand unit with great difficulty, fitted it and it all works fine now!

So in summary, you probably need a new screen. If it's a nexvox, don't expect it to be easy to find a used identical unit.
