steering wheel controls

I have a 99 T & C limited minivan, 120,000 miles. It has cruise controls and stereo controls on the steering wheel, which is great. In the last week, none of these controls work, and the airbag light is on in the message panel on the dash. Is there a module in there that needs replaced? Any insight into this would be much appreciated. I hate to just take it straight to the dealer if it could be a simple self-fix. Thanks. Mike, Decatur, IN.

RE: steering wheel controls

that sounds like the clockspring i can almost 100% garantee it
before you take it in call the dealer and ask them to check to see if it is covered dcx had a recall on clocksprings for the old ns minivans and i think that might still be covered under that
ps by the way a do it yourself clockspring is not recommended airbag may deploy and that would really hurt.
