Stow n Go seat problem

I just purchased a 2007 town and country limited and I'm having two problems with the second row stow n go seats. When I pull the lever and tip the seats forward they fall very quickly and have injured my wife a couple times(nothing serious but they could break a bone at the speed they fall). Other town and country vans we looked at the seats tip forward and fall slowly in a controlled manner.

The second issue is the seats are not curling properly. Instead of the top of the seat tucking up so the seats lay flat the top hits the bottom of the stow compartment. They get stuck partially going into the stow compartment. I have to reach down into the compartment under the seat and pull the top of the seat towards the back of the vehicle to get them to fully collapse.

I'm sure these two problems are related I just don't know what the problem is. It's as if a shock or spring is broken or worn out.

These problems happen to both of the second row seats. The third row seats work fine.

My second row seats fold and fall very quickly too but my seats do lay flat when they are folded. It's just a pain having to move both front seats all the way forward to stow the second row. Are you raising the armrests fully and lowering the headrests before folding the seats?

Yes everything is folded correctly the seats just don't "curl" like they should

Here is what I'm talking about. They cannot be pushed down I have to reach under and pull towards the back to get them to fully fold.

The underside of my seats look the same as yours so that doesn't suggest a problem with the mechanism.

I think I've got it. The middle row seats adjust forward/rear by about 6 inches. Make shure they are in the forward position before folding into hole. If I left mine in the rear position they would automatically drop the 6 inches when vertical as you fold the seat. Perhaps thats not happening making the seat too long for the hole.
Regards John.
