without proper diagnostic equipment, it's a total guess. forsure I can tell you that your transmission is in 'limp-in' meaning that the computer cannot control the shifting so it gives up and stays in 2nd gear. You'll need to have a quality transmission tech analyze why this happened. could be as cheap as a $30 sensor or as expensive as a total rebuild. Watch out if they say it needs to be rebuilt. fixing this problem over the internet without sufficient information is IMPOSSIBLE. so you need to get more information inorder to sumize an accurate solution.
