Transmision Question

I have an 2008 T&C Limited with the 3.8 and 6 speed auto tranny. I just bought it used with 22k on it about a month ago. I am noticing the shift in the trans much more than I ever did with my 99 caravan with the 4 speed.

I also was riding along at 10-15 mph in traffic today and felt a "bang", nothing else. The car is great so far with the exceptin of a few MyGig quirks and this with the trans.

Any thoughts?

well you have a 6 speed trans so yes it's going to feel like its shifting a lot more. you are going to hate this van when it comes to service. you need a 'special' tool just to check the transmission fluid.

Really? Is this something expensive, and can it be had online. I plan on keeping this van a long time.

the 'special' dipstick is like $50. what a joke that they want to charge the customer for a part that should be on the vehicle to begin with. WTF is up with that?

its a nag tranny mercedes design u use a scanner to check fluid temp and then compared to a chart to what level it is suppose to be

Damler sure ran the best car company right into the ground!!!. i miss the mid 90's when the products were exciting and diverse. the LH cars were well done, neon, 1994 truck, gen3 minivan. but then came the 2.7, no entry level small cars, etc. now you can't even check your own transmission fluid level. I think I stay will driving my 91 toyota corolla. it's been the best car i've owned for reliability.

Have the dealer perfrom TSB 21-017-08, flash update on the PCM/TCM. There also a flash updates for the mygig radio as well.
