Tricky Driver door power lock problem '01 T&C

The driver door of our 2001 Town & Country has a tricky problem where we can use the remote door lock to unlock the door, but when I grasp the door's external handle and pull to open the door -- the driver's door locks itself! If I use the remote door lock to unlock the door AT THE NEARLY SAME TIME as pulling the handle, I can successfully open the door. There seems to be a small window of opportunity to open the door successfully once someone unlocks the door, but it is very, very very short! It did this last summer then the problem seemed to be nonexistant over the winter. The problem came back during the spring. Am I going crazy or have some of you techs seen a similar issue?!

Thanks, all!

Michael B

Hello Michael B. May I ask how you have progressed with this issue? We have a 02 Grand Caravan Sport and since last fall we have experienced quite similar actions. With the warmer temps of last fall the Remote got to where it wouldn't Unlock/Lock the door and like you, grab the door handle and it would Lock. Push the Remote button and pull the door handle simultaneously and the door would open. Through the winter...not a problem. Now the spring temps are warming the issue has returned. I also have a 02 Neon Sport that exhibited similar issues with its remote during the warm temps. It finally quit working. No response from any button, door locks or trunk and the 15 mph door lock quit working too. TIA for a reply.
