urgent help voyager03 crd

please please help. i have a 2003 voyager 2.5 crd. it has 180 00 miles. problems begain with battery drain and starting problem. exchanged starter but problem came back after 3 days. first it only started when it was worm, no go the next day. i pushed started 3 time before it died on me while driving. replaced fuel pump inside the tank because the presure was low. replaced the crank sensor replaced sensor valve next to fuel pump on engine. it finely started with the help of brake cleaner or the other stuff you spray in the air filter. took it for a drive and it died and refused to start even with the spray. bought new fuel injectors and glow pugs. IT WONT START!!!!!!!!! it will however start with the brake cleaner, but thats not good for the engine, i know. yes i changed the fuel filter. the computer says no faults. hovever today for the first time the computer showed me P1130. i already spent 1500 and im exausted. please help

The fuel pump is outside the tank not in it. Is this pump running? sounds like you covered most. All that comes to mind is the fuel return off the rail. Remove the small return pipe off the rail and crank or start it, there should be no fuel coming out the rail as it's a high pressure relieve.

im no mechanic but the fuel pump my mechanic replaced, which i bought personaly from chrysler dealer is called something like in tank electrik push pump, or something. the other fuel pomp located by the engine was not replaced. i dont quite understand your help. as i have no more money i will be doing further work my self. so if you can explain in detail about the rail and what im douing and what im looking frto i would really appreciate it. thanks for answering in the first place. what if i ther is fuel comming out? what if there is no fuel comming out? am i supposed to takr the pipe off and try to start it? thank

Hi
Ok the metal pipe coming off the pump on the engine goes to the high pressure rail. This rail feeds the 4 injectors. On the end of this rail is a small rubber hose. Pull off this hose and block the hose (not the rail) with something to stop the fuel. Then crank it or start it if it will and look for fuel coming out of the rail, there should be none. If there is then the rail is faulty and not holding pressure.
As for the pump by the tank, look next to the tank you should see it next to it. It's a round pump about 4 inches wide and the fuel filter screws on the bottom of it. Ignition on and you should here it run.

once again thank for replying. suppose i do all you say and there is no fuel comming out, and rail is ok. where do i go then? did i mention that the car shakes extermely hard when i try to start it? before all this it just shooklightly but now the wehicle shakes as if it were possesed. im just gripping at straws here. thanks

could i have a problem with my imobilizer/alarm? ive been advised that i have an electrical problem. if its something electrical any sugestions? any theorys? any known faults?

charles1970 07-14-2010 04:44 PM

if the rail is faulty would that prevent it from starting only but once its runingit would run?the mechanic said , at the begining of his dignosis, that its the crank sensor because when he unpluged the electical wire to the fuel injectors and placed a plastic sesor that ther is no electric signal goin to the fuel injector telling it to opperate. what is your input or theory on that dignosis. he said that ther is no electrical signal commendin the injector to work. please help any thory would be appreciated.

Hi
OK alarm fault you would have the red SKIM light on in the cluster.
Yes if you have no fuel coming out the rail maybe ok, obviously if there is no fuel getting up it can't leak back. It's just a good quick easy test to do.
Now as to your mechanic he just doesn't understand the vehicle he is working on. Until the fuel pressure in the rail gets up the injector don't inject so you wouldn't get any signal at the injectors.
