Voyager CRD won't start!
Hi, would really appreciate some advice...
Our 2.5 CRD LX 2003 won't start, it turns over but won't actually start. We've changed the glo plugs, had the starter relay checked which is fine and now been advised it may be a fuel/injector problem... Also we have been using Easystart to start it which I know is not good.. Any ideas? Thanks :) |
Maybe you can provide some more information. Does the car show a fault code? Does the car have a history of problems, like stalling? Before the glow plugs were done, did it start with difficulty or not at all? What is the mileage of the car? Was the car just refueled?
Why does your mechanic think it is a fuel/injector problem? |
Hi Thanks for your reply. Here are my answers...
No Fault code No history of stalling Before the glow plugs were done the car was behaving the same way, in fact the ones that were taken out looked ok. Mileage just under 60,000 Car not just refueled Chyrysler told us the injectors could be weeping or asked if I have changed the fuel filter which I haven't yet Also once the car has started once (with easystart) and has been driven around it will generally start ok for the rest of the day though doesn't sound healthy, a bit spluttery.. Thanks |
Ok, If the car is not giving a fault code, it seems to me that a problem with fuel delivery or injectors is unlikely. If there is a problem with rail pressure for example you would have had a fault code P1130.

Sorry, not hijacking, just subscribing as I've the same problem (apart from the juddery running) and rather than start a new thread, i'll keep an eye on this one.
Done the glowplugs (last one today after removing the alternator) and got an ever so slight turn on a slightly leaking injector (anyone know where I can buy injector seals?). Proof will be in the morning when I go to start it again. |

Hi...
Well I had a similar problem recently, no fault codes...I used easy start first thing when cold and then it would run as if there was no problem...had it checked over at the Chrysler dealer...they found that injector 3 needed replacing, that done...starting is absolutely fine now...:) |
