A plugged A/C evaporator condensate drain is the usual cause for wet carpets on the passenger side. Look down behind the alternator at the firewall. You should see about a half inch diameter tube sticking out from the firewall. If it's had the TSB completed it may be a 90 elbow. Take a piece of wire and carefully ream out the tube. You don't want to get too frisky and damage the evaporator.

VBoyager 2005 2.8TDi carpet wet

My Voyager suffers from a wet carpet on the passenger side when the air con is being used. It seems to take days to dry out. It's been to the local garage 3 times and each time they reckon they've fixed it. Last time they changed to condenser as that leaked all the gas out, but now we use the aircon again, the carpet's still wet. Any ideas or is it the same as the above answer?

Dear Raptor 07,
I faced d same problem sometime ago. In my case,it was a clogged drain pipe at the firewall in the engine compartment.
Pls locate the drain pipe and while the a/cond is on pls observe whther theres water flow out frm the drain pipe,if theres none, try to run a small rod, nail or anything that could go thru the pipe n run it in n out.
Once its clear than evrtg shud ve ok.

This is a right hand drive car. The car's been to the local garage 5 times now. Last week they unblocked the drain but this week we've soaked up about 2 gallons of water from the passenger side foot well!! Water seems to drip from the drain (what looks like a 1/4" pipe) onto the left side chassis rail, then finds it was into the carpet. There's also a small amount goes onto the road. Maybe there's another drain pipe to unblock? Should the water drain onto the chassis?
