2000 town and country 3.3 L

Let me explain the events and issues of my problems.

Driving along and went to stop noticed spongy break pedal with little breaking ability... Got home check on break fluid and noticed it was low on fluid but not dry.. Filled up reservoir and tested breaks. Pedal still spongy and no breaking ability.

Put car up on lift and inspected all breaks.... Noticed that the passenger side rear was leaking fluid.. after pulling break drum found that the wheel cylinder was slowly leaking fluid... I have replaced cylinder and tried to bleed break system but have found that there is little to no break line pressure to the passenger rear or the drivers front. but the passenger front and drives rear still have good pressure....

I have read mixed Posts on bleeding the breaks and im not sure of what to do now as some posts say that i will need a computer to tell the ABS to reset and open to properly bleed all wheels?

Some posts say that there is no such thing??

At this point I am confused and not wondering if the ABS moduel has gone bad? However i do not have a ABS or Break waring light lit on the dash????

2 people needed to do this pump the pedals 3x then hold it to the floor release the bleed screw on wheel until no air comes out and repeat until no air is spitting out of the lines do to all 4 wheels.

 

I have done that with two peope... There is still no pressure in the line for the passenger rear or driver front.

 

Brake hoses can get clogged. Not sure why but I have seen it. The flexible hose between the brake line and the brake cylinder may be the source of the lack of pressure at the wheel.
Of course, you'll need to bleed the brakes again after replacing the hose.

 

I have checked the lines and they are clear. also find it odd that the issue is diagnal. not iosolated. i have a feeling that it has something to do with the abs???? Anyone know if i need to have a machine connected to the car computer to tell it to reset?

 

Unless u took off the ABS Pump its not an issue the ABS is not even inline or used until a panic stop is done.

 

If the problem is diagonal, you should suspect the master cylinder. It is divided into two parts, each serving diagonal wheels.

 

Is there a way that i can test the master cylinder to make sure that that is the part that has failed??? I really dont wish to be replacing parts that may not need to be replaced....
