Where is the engine number????

In Australia, before a vehicle's registration can be transferred interstate, the vehicle engine number MUST be physically sighted by the relevant registration authority. The number must be the one as stamped on the block...Trouble is, no one can find the bloody number, not even the Chrysler dealer. Supposedly, the number is located on the front end of the engine, Where???? Please help...The van is a 4/2000 Grand Voyager SE 3.3 litre V6 auto.
