1998 2.0L Breeze
 

I recently replaced the timing belt on the car because it tore while my nephew was driving it. I hooked up the MT2500 scanner and troubeshot it down to the belt and replaced it. Once it was replace, I cleared the codes and reset the memory. I had a horrible time getting it to start. I finally got it to started but it idles really rough. It also smells of fuel when the vehicle was on. I can drive it, but it lacks power, lags on acceleration and when I shift into gear. I checked the spark plugs and found that 1,3 and 4 had oil on them. What should be my next step? I am new to Chrysler brand cars and don't want to spend a lot of money replacing what doesn't need to be replaced.

I have never replaced a timing belt on a Chrysler before. I had a general idea how to do it, but bought a Haynes manual to make sure I was going in the right direction.
Also, when I check the car with a scanner there are no codes that are popping up. I have been researching all the possible problems before I spend more money on the car. I already replaced the spark plugs and wires, it starts a little easier but does the same thingwhile idleing.
Are there any things to look for or steps that I can take to make sure that my timing is going to be on before I put on all the accessories?
