2000 chrysler cirrus chift solenoid
 

i have a 2000 chrysler cirrus and i have a serious problem with the shift solenoid. I bought the new part and put it in the car last week. when i first put the part in, the car was shifting but it was leaking transmission fluid really bad. So the next morning we took the car apart and tightened up the shift solenoid. The car stopped leaking transmission fluid but now it wont shift again! Can anyone help me because i am running out of patience and money! Thank you

what are the codes in the tranny computer?

all it tells me is that the shift solenoid is bad

Hi,

I have the same problem. I get a code of P700 and not sure what within the tranny is going bad. When the car is warm, I am stuck in first gear only. Is the tranny bad or is it the TCM or selenoids that are bad? Any quick way to find out? It is scarry if I have to pull the tranny out. It looks quite a bit involved to remove it. :(

I dont have the tranny codes. I dont have access to a TCM reader. All I have is an ODBII reader. I am in Canada and there are noe free place to read the codes. The dealer will cost over $150 to pull the codes. So, Chrysler Tech, if the car has over 100 k miles and the tranny is stuck in first gear and wont shift, is 80% sure that I need to find a good used tranny?
