2000 Cirrus Climate Control

I'm having a problem with my 2000 Cirrus' Climate Control. I suspect that the intake is not fully switching over (sealing) to the A/C or heat systems as selected. The reason I suspect this is that neither one is very effective, as if the system is sucking in outside air directly in addition to the air it's trying to deliver, leaving a tepid, "just barely cool/hot enough" output. If it were just the A/C, I'd suspect that was the problem, but since the heat is just as affected, I'm left with the notion that it's some physical failure of the airflow system.

Also, it seems diminished in fan strength. Although I can hear and feel the fan speed change at each setting, even at full blast it might be enough to blow out a candle.

I had extensive and repeated A/C work done in recent years, and I can't help but wonder if all that tinkering under my dash has somehow dislodged or damaged this system.

Can anyone tell me what the source of this problem might be? I live in Florida and miss my nice, cold A/C! :(

Thanks in advance for any help!

remove your blower motors and see if the rec door has broken and is sitting on top of the blower motor. then also find the motors for the blend air and see if they move when u move the knob as well.

Hm.

Okay, I'll have someone check those.

If anyone has any other theories, I'll continue to welcome any words of wisdom you'd care to dispense.
