98 Cirrus - do disk brake pads have clips?
Hello all,
Taking a wild shot in the dark here - this forum looks dead - just 12 threads in the last 4 months, half of which have zero replies - but, just in case anyone out there is reading..... On 98 Cirrus - the steel rails where the front brake pads rest on and slide against - on many vehicles it's a removable caliper mount. But on these cars, it's integrated into the steering knuckle. So when that surface develops a notch where the caliper foot normally rests, the calipers stop sliding properly. On many other vehicles, that slider rail has a small metal cover, or clip, to serve as the sliding surface, and it gets replaced along with the pads. But I've never seen one on this vehicle. Is there such a thing out there as a Cirrus brake pad slider/clip to cover the slider rail? Even as an after-market solution to the notched slider rail? 'Cause I don't want to have to replace the entire steering knuckle for something so simple. Thanks, if there's anyone out there......... |
the clips if u have any is only an anti rattle clip ne way so if u have them on good if not then install your pads.

Appreciate the reply!
Thing is - the slider rail has become notched where the pad foot rests on it. So pads aren't sliding properly. The corrective measure is to replace the entire steering knuckle. I was hoping ther might be such a thing as a clip that would clip onto the rail and serve as a new sliding surface so that I don't have to replace the entire steergin knuckle. |
