I have a '99 Cirrus that has been intermittently stalling out. The check engine light has been on for a while but has been running okay when it is on. When it is stalling/running rough the check engine light goes out. It always starts right back up after stalling. My friend/mechanic says the computer needs to be replaced but to wait until it actually dies because it is expensive and car has 160,000 miles on it. Now it is dead in driveway-Sound like the right diagnosis or not?
