Gasket for valve cover?
 

Needed to change the spark plug gaskets on my 95 cirrus as the tubes were getting oil in them and fouling the plugs. Take the valve cover off to find no gasket? Is this normal? Just looking for some verification as I got a valve kit that came with gaskets and the haynes manual describes a gasket as well.

Also wondering if there is any tricks to getting to the rear bank of plugs or do I just have to take off the upper intake manifold. Also would just like to confirm whether or not there is a gasket for that as well.

if u had no gaskets on there it would really be leaking

Yes indeed there was a gasket. It was so hard I thought it was part of the valve cover itself!

Any tips on how to remove a stubborn gasket? I am having a hell of a time trying to pry out the old gasket from the top of the cover. I try to do as much work on the car and bike as I can but I have never really ventured into the internals of the engines themselves before so any advice from a pro would be appreciated.

I got the front gasket done though was not able to get to the rear. Think I may have to take it in for that one.

You have to remove the upper air intake for the rear plugs. Its a fairly easy job if you have the right tools. There is 2 screws at the rear that you must remove. The passenger one is really easy but the driver one is a tad more difficult. If have to unplug a few hoses, a few sensors, the screws for the upper EGR tube and the screw that holds the intake. You will need a small wrachet with a 12mm extended socket but for the smallest wrachet(1/4 ???) Not too familiar with the size for such items. You do have gaskets for the rear and for the upper air intake. Hope this helps you in saving $$$$
