HELP! Sounds like a jet/turbine engine!
Hey guys,
I live in Denmark (Europe) and I just bought a 1997 Chrysler Stratus 2.5 LX V6 ( I believe the US-model is called Chrysler Cirrus). The engine and the transmission sounds and drives solid, except from a weird sound that comes from under the hood whenever I speed up. It's ONLY when I accelerate the sound appears. The sound is NOT present when in idle, slowing down or turning left or right. The sound itself sounds like a jet engine or a turbine engine from from a plane speeding up on the runway. The are no squealing sounds coming from any of the belts or pully's when in idle or turning the steering wheel right/left. The sound is only there when the car accelerates. Have I bought myself a plane or have any of you guys got an idea of what could be wrong or where to start investigating :) Thanks in advance and best regards // Pete |
Check to see if the tube from the air filter to throttle body is properly seated.
