BRAKES?
 

I have a 06' pt cruiser....i just had my pads replaced two months ago and now when I'm driving in city traffic my brakes get hot and the car seem slugish. I'm scared my brakes will lock up. Someone at work said I most likely need to bleed my brakes but I'm curious to see what anyone has to say.

I think this thread is in the wrong place, but here goes anyway. I am assuming you are not driving with your left foot on the brake. Some people do that unconsciously.

"Bleeding" the brakes is necessary if you have air in the brake lines. It doesn't cause the brakes to drag. It would cause a spongy feel to the brake pedal. Dragging brakes can be caused by corrosion of the caliper. It can also be caused by a bad brake hose. You should be able to tell which wheel is dragging. That wheel is likely to get hot during normal driving. You will also get more dust and wear of the pads at the dragging wheel. Once you have figured out which wheel is dragging, carefully inspect the caliper sliding surfaces to see if they are corroded. Lubricate the sliding surfaces with high temperature grease. Try squeezing the caliper with a big C-clamp to see if the piston can be easily retracted. If not, try again after cracking the bleed screw. (Connect a piece of clear plastic tubing to the bleed screw to direct any flow into a jar.) If the piston can now be retracted, then a plugged hose is the likely target. Replace the hose and then bleed that caliper to remove air. Hopefully, that should do it.
