Default My 2008 Chrysler Aspen passenger seat caught on FIRE!!!!

A couple days ago my 2008 Chrysler Aspen passenger seat caught on fire while parked in my driveway for no reason. Destroying the SUV. What do I do, this has to be a manufactured issue. Can someone please help me with how to report this to Chrysler to be reimbursed for my total loss of my SUV. I have seen this issue one other time and the fire department stayed clearly on the report that it was a manufactured issue that caused this same issue but is that case Chrysler said it wasn't a manufactured problem....I'm so upset and need help. I'm attaching pictures of the inside of my Chrysler

First of all, you posted this in the wrong section. This is not a "Forum Issue". Forum issues are glitches, problems with this actual forum. Not your vehicle. It should of been posted in the "Chrysler Aspen" or "Off Topic" area.

Secondly, the fire department and your insurance company should be working together to determine the actual cause of the fire. Although heated seats could be a possibility for the fire (although I'm not sure why they would be powered while vehicle is off), I am seeing some debris of other things sitting in the seat so it is possible something that was sitting on it caused the fire. The only other possibility I can think of would be power seat shorted. An investigation will need to be done to determine the cause.

If it is determined to be a manufacture defect, your insurance will probably report it to NHTSA. Chrysler will probably not get involved unless they see a pattern for this issue. Being that the vehicle is 15 years old, I highly doubt they will do anything at this point unless their is a massive string of this happening. Only two instances will not be enough to merit their involvement.

Perhaps @ChryslerCares will chime in with other things you can do, but I'm sure at this point it is all on the insurance company to do what they get paid for. Now, just in case you say you don't have car insurance (which you should), since it was parked in your driveway, you can also go to homeowner insurance.
