2000 PT Cruiser power steering removal

hi everyone. need a bit of help.

I'm from the UK so the cruiser is right hand drive, 2000 model, 2.0litre.

Basically the power steering failed whilst driving. The belt hadn't snapped but had come off the pulleys due to the tensioner/idler pulley seizing up.

Now i need to remove this plate/assembly. The assembly is mounted on a plate thats bolted to the bottom end. subframe bolts removed and engine mounts removed that side so i thought i could drop the engine one side and it would come out.

all the bolts holding the assembly to the engine are removed but there is no space at all get it out. with the subframe bolts removed etc the engine does drop but not enough.

does the engine need to come out? the only other thing that might help is if i remove the cambelt cover. check out the pics, a bit of guidance would be great.
