Default 2001 Sebring LXI rearview mirror replace

I need to replace the rearview mirror on my 2001 Sebring Coupe LXI. The mirror does not function correctly. The images are distorted & the interior lights seldom work. I can't figure how to remove it. No fasteners are visable. I unhooked the connector for the interior lights and mirror dimmer. That's as far as I got. I stumped. Anyone know of a good replacement mirror or should I go for OEM?

When you go looking for a replacement, be sure to specify that your car is a coupe. The sedan and convertible have very few, if any, parts in common with the coupe.

I agree. You'd think the mirrors would be interchangeable to reduce manufacturing costs. Still asking how to remove the mirror from the windshield. Any ideas?

Not sure about the coupe, sorry. Is it glued on? If so, there is usually a set screw that holds the mirror to the stud.

I still need help in removing this mirror. Any technicians or salvage yard guys out there that can help me? I've got a stiff neck trying to figure this out.

I cracked my girl friend's windshield after giving it a good pull. Stupid mirror. Even with it off, I still can't figure out how it comes off the mount.

Default I have taken the mirror off

You need to slide a flat head screw driver in the slot where the mirror connects to the windshield there piece of metal that you unclip and then slide the mirror down.

Thanks nfratto. I will give it a try. I almost gave up on this. Just got my coupe back from the body shop. Wife hit a deer and damaged the right side, knocking off the outside mirror, dented fender, etc.
