2002 Chrysler Intrepid help

I just bought a 2002 Chrysler Intrepid r/t . It is semi automatic, so I have to change 1,2,3,4 gear, but I hear it can be fully automatic, is this true? and if so how to change it so I just can put it in Drive and go, not worrying about switching gears?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks yeah I got it! I don't know how to work the different speeds, I first gear I would go uphill and below 20 then 2nd for 40km and 3rd for 50 and I never used 4th... was this right at all or am I off?

read your owners manual

Put it in D and let it shift automatically. Observe where it shifts, RPM and vehicle speed. If you insist on shifting manually, shift at approximately the same points. Use all the gears when they are appropriate or you will put additional and unnecessary stress and wear on the engine, and waste gas.
