90 New Yorker Fuel Guage Sending Unit problem...
Well, the other day I'd gotten half a tank of gas and lost nearly all of it on the way home from a Doctors appointment. Not being a car guy it took me ahwile to trouble shoot the problem by myself... after replacing 2 fuel hoses. Turns out that the L shaped connection from the Fuel Guage Sending Unit has cracks in it. I was able to cover one crack with the hose and clamp it down good, but noticed another crack in the back of the connector.
What I need to know is do I have to replace the whole sending unit or is there an easy and inexpensive way to fix the connector? Currently out of work and low on funds so getting a new Unit is tricky... Also have no idea how to remove the Sending Unit since my Chyrsler repair manual skips over the Unit. Any help is apprechaited... Thanks in advanced! |
RE: 90 New Yorker Fuel Guage Sending Unit problem...
you can try that 2 part epoxy on it if you can clean it good enough.im not one to mess with fuel leaks.it would be better to replace the tank sending unit.moe
