ABS Brake problem

I took my van in for service because my ABS light was on and not pedal was going all the way down. I have a '92 Town and country So the ABS system was replaced under the lifetime warranty. I was also told I needed to replace the accumulator, so I had that done for $500. After the work was done, they couldn't get the brakes to bleed, and ended up keeping my van for 4 months, yes 4 months, trying to determine the problem. Now, I'm being told that the master cylinder needs to be replaced, which is over $3,000! Of course I don't plan to have this done, but should I be expected to pay for an accumulator that may not have needed replacing? And could the faulty ABS system have damaged my master cylinder?? This all seems very fishy to me!

Correction: Pedal was going all the way down.

$3000 for a master cylinder seems a little bit high.

rockauto.com sells them for about $31.00. Plus shipping of course.

Maybe you should get a second opinion.
