ABS Sensor Replacement
If the computer has stored a DTC that says "L/R ABS sensor failure" is there any reason to replace all four?
Why wouldn't you just replace the left rear unit? |
RE: ABS Sensor Replacement

RE: ABS Sensor Replacement
We took the car in because the ABS light was coming on.....brakes still worked great. The service writer called and said a sensor had failed. I said "how much is it going to cost?" and they said $475.
OK, so it's expensive, fix it. When we paid the bill, it said all four sensors had been replaced: 291 for labor, and about 45 bucks apiece for the sensors. According to my calculator, I overpaid by about $200.....I'll be calling the service manager..... Thanks for the reply. |
RE: ABS Sensor Replacement
apparently, there's a TSB #05-003-07 that came out on 6/13/07 ... it says to replace all four ABS sensors when one goes bad ... (but I can't findthe contents of itanywhere -- NHTSA.DOT.ORG has a summary, it just says "ABS sensor..")
I wonder what's going to happen to all the poor saps who got their car worked-on prior to June.......better stay BEHIND any Pacifica's you encounter ! ! ! ;> |
RE: ABS Sensor Replacement
oh well now that u say its a PAC then yes replace all 4 and y because they are all crap as for as the abs sensors and everyone knows it. U replace one and next week another one goes out all to common. SO yes replace all 4 so that for your sake and the dealers ships u dont haft to come back all mad becasue your abs light is on and they say u now need another one that was not the same one that u just replaced hard to tell that to a cust when thay dont see what goes on and the proof that the one that wsa replaced is working right. so yes they did it correctly and u wont have any more isues from the wheel speed sensors.
